What the heck do you do with 1/2 chaps?

So I have been asked many times since working with The Curvy Cowgirl... what the heck am I doing with those leather 1/2 chaps.  So all of you english and show riders sit back and relax.  I want to talk with my western, trail, endurance and backyard -pleasure gals.

If you have known me for any length of time.. you know that I am an amateur rider - but LOVE LOVE LOVE to ride.  In this pic you see my FF 1/2 chaps, brown and black - proudly well worn.  Here is my list of why I wear them - for you to consider and respond with your thoughts.


1. ok so the truth is they are way cool and part of a costume that I want to be a part of -  being a lover of all things english including Miss Suzanne Wild at FF.
2. so now that we are past my love of costumes... they are leather - smell good and look great ( again all about me..:-))
3. They are warm in the winter
4.  They give some support to my old calf - that probably needs to wear TEDS hose... if you dont know what those are-- be glad.
5. They protect my lower leg from scratchy things
6. I like how they create a little "stick to it" when I am riding in my BB pad or BB( Bare Back)
7. When I put them on - it is my uniform for riding and playing with my horse - I can't back out once they are zipped
8. Raven can't tear my Jean Genies on the fence post when she decides she wants to be done riding,
9. The ritual of cleaning them and shining them - gives me time to slow down and appreciate that my ancestors have been using leather horse gear for years.  I am a part of the tradition.
10. It makes me feel official...and did I mention they look cool.

OK so there are loads of reasons to wear them that have nothing to do with my reasons - but I thought I would share!

Boots and More Boots

Had an opportunity to Show offf the field boots at a show in Virginia an sold many pair.  Everyone was SOOO excited with the fit and styling -- wow they looked great.  There was No One I could not fit~~that is wonderful news- So ladies - if you have been waiting - you should order now before this stock is gone!  Apryl

WESTERN BOOTS ARE HERE!!

We are pretty stoked about the new boots... all along we have been looking for only the best in quality - and Fuller Fillies provides that EVERY TIME!  We could not be happier.  So now for the next bit of news.  We have been looking for more western style boots as well and found Kestar boots.  Lolly and I have been wearing them at shows and found them comfortable and a really great short boot.  They are also endorsed by Julie Goodnight and many other famous folk.  So to go along with our WONDERFUL Dress, Field and Country tall boots - we are offering a Jodhpur paddock boot and 2 styles of a short western boot.  One of the western boots - the Dakota - has an English Toe and a western shank...WENGLISH....:-)  So - Now we should be able to meet the needs of the feets...Plus the Johd boots look GREAT with the Huggy leather chaps - and come in Black and brown --- just like the CHAPS!  Happy shopping!! Summer Fun

Hope you all are having a great summer.  The Curvy Cowgirl had a little unfortunate experience with "Tug" our 1 ton pickup that pulls the inventory from place to place.  But never fear - we are back on the road and headed to the east over the next Month or so. 

Big news is of course the boots and 1/2 chaps.  We now carry 4 widths in the 1/2 chaps and the boots are going to be in my and your hands this week - that is so wonderful!

Update on Boots from Fuller Fillies

From Suzanne - here is the update..

Here's the full info on ETA:
The boots leave India today and will take a couple of weeks to get here (by boat therefore cancelling the chance of delays due to bloody ASH!; providing they clear customs promptly they will arrive in our warehouse within 24 hours of landing and be sent out to the stores within another 24 hours.

Look on our news page - anyone listed there will have boots in this timescale - although as I understand it most are already sold.
Any Store not listed there is unlikely to get ANY boots from this shipping however a second order will follow as soon as these land - but they won't land here for three months or so- we are looking at the end of August unless I can pull any favours! The Chief of the factory really has a soft spot for me so you never know...
Hope that clears up any queries?

Special Delivery from the UK

Fuller Fillies in the UK has given us the opportunity to bring some fun Polos to the US for our gals here.  They should be arriving soon and I will let you know about cost and all.  In the UK they are offering them for 6 pounds - plus shipping - which works out to about 9 american dollars.  There will be some import duties and such but we will get them available at a really reasonable price...  The shirts have a pretty tight forearm on some of the ladies so that is why they are letting them go at such a reduced price.  As soon as I get them - I will give you the blow by blow on them...they  look really cute!!

So - I have been on a sock hunt.. and found some that I think will work and they are FANTASTICALLY CUTE!! - I will get some loaded to the website this weekend for you all to see - they fit a calf up to 21 inches!

Spring is here!!

Soon we will be starting the Spring Show Circuit and I cant wait. Look for us first at the Equine Affaire in Ohio.

Oh and some more good news.... the Fuller Fillies Dress Boots and Country boots are looking beautiful. We are going to set up a PRE-ORDER my boots page - for those that want to make sure to have a pair fresh out of the gate! Look for that at the end of the week!

As of April 1, 2010, I will be FULLY CURVY! I am leaving my other job and will committed full time to the Curvy Cowgirl. To Celebrate... Arrival

The goods have arrived. All of the goodies we are calling Fuler Fillies Retro - all 17 boxes ahve arrived from across the water and we are getting ready to take a look - don't you wish you could be here too!!

Mike and I opened ALL of the boxes last night and I about fainted at the great treasure within.  For those that have not seen the Diva show coat - wow-- it is a little lighter fabric and fits fuller at the bottom.. good for me -- being apple shaped... Navy and Black -- also in the impeccable brown tweed - you will love it!

Horsefest 2010

Horsefest has been wonderful. Such a great event in our hometown! The endurance riders have really embraced the Fuller Fillies line.

Getting ready for Horsefest

Horse Fest is upon us!! and Mike and I are getting ready with some great new decor for our 10x15 booth. Come by to see us - we will have lots of great show wear and of course all of the great things FF is famous for!

2 wonderful things!!

HORSEFEST in Springfield MO.  Come see us at Horsefest March 12, 13 and 14th!  We will be in booths 83 and 84.. and will have all kinds of great clothes plus a 10% show discount!  This is a great event with lots of wonderful vendors and clinicians.  I am looking forward to seeing so many of you that I have met online!  Come by and say hello -- we will be right next to our great friends and trainers, Tony and Jennifer Vaught.  You will want to talk with them too - they are great folks with a love and talent for helping you really partner with your horse.  Jenny is due in June and you will see her wearing her Musketeer jacket!! :-)

The other wonderful thing... our dear buddy in the UK had this great idea to bring some of their "retro" stock to the US.  We will be the ONLY ones in the us to carry it.  I should have it in by April 4 - and will tell you all about it, We will have the GREAT echo tshirts - I am buying them all...Fuller Fillies has been around a while - in Europe, and there are many designs you have not seen until now!!! So watch for more news!

More sizes in Chaps

You asked for it in Pomona and if you have been watching the website to see my response - here it is.:
WE GOT IT FOR YOU!!!

We are going to have 3 new options for fitting the larger and smaller calf...

1. The Huggy Leather Chap in Brown and Black will now be made in an XXXW and

2.  also in 1 size smaller than the XL.

 Suzanne at fuller Fillies is sampling this for us and we will be the only store carrying these sizes -- It will have all the great Fuller Fillies design and quality - under our label - I JUST LOVE IT!!  So - When can you have them?? I am thinking 6-8 weeks until they are made and sent to me. This is really exciting -

Plan 3 - I have ordered the new EKTOR chap from FF as well - they are a neoprene chap - I have heard they are awesomly beautiful and fit a calf larger than 21 inches. SO there you go..

Choices choices!! Maybe we should have both eh? I hear piggie banks breaking all over..:-)

Last week on last years prices!

Hey everyone.. I wanted to give you some advance warning --as much as I hate it - and will do my best to keep prices down... prices are going up a bit - and next week will bring an increase in some items.  I have always felt and continue to feel that the Filler Fillies line is not only great fitting - but a great value and an investment in your riding comfort and style!!

So anyway - I wanted to let you know that I plan to wait till  next Monday morning, March 8th -  so if there is something you want.. this is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of last years prices!!

Our Sacremento show - Double GOOD!

Ladies! The best news! I got a call this morning and it looks like the Curvy Cowgirl will be sporting a DOUBLE BOOTH at the Western States Horse Expo in Sacremento California. Ladies - we are making a name for ourselves! So the good news for you west coast ladies - we should have the Fuller Fillies new line all together and have the space to show it off properly - including a dressing room. And of course the new boots! If you are even close - plan to attend one of the BEST HORSE EXPOS in the US - it will be worth the trip -- I am Driving 3 days to get there -- hey lets make a caravan!! How fun would that be--??

What a great day!

Everyone must be thinking about SHOWTIME!!  I have had a run on those GREAT Black Foxys.  I think I may have to have one myself - it would look great with my Big Black Percherons - don't you think?

I love putting one of those great jackets in a suit cover and then the box-- knowing the delight - when you unzip the cover and see your new jacket for the first time.. ok - ok - I am a little bit of a retail geek...I LOVE this  business and I LOVE my customers!  Apryl

Welcome to the weekend!!

It is still a little chilly here -- but the snow is mostly gone the sky was blue, I actually wore sunglasses.  The Curvy Cowgirl ordered a selection of those new Fuller Fillies boots..oh man!  I cannot wait for them to get here.

So today I decided I would digress from the all business attitude and call it Farm Friday ... The Curvy Cowgirl is PLAIN HORSE CRAZY... this is my mare Bonnie.. she is a Clydesdale - and yes they have a barn - but she prefers the outside unless it is REALLY WINDY.  Doesn't she look like someone you know???  The Fuller Fillies Horse!! And yes-- she makes my bum look small.  I have lots of drafts, they make me feel petite!! Apryl

Equine Affaire - Columbus Ohio!- Private Fitting appointments

We learned a few things from our last gig -- lots of ladies were waiting to be fitted for jackets, jodhs, show wear etc - since for a lot of them - it was the first encounter with a measuring tape in a long time...:-) What I measure stays between the tape and me!!  SO - we are taking appointments for the Ohio Event to make sure ladies don't have to wait...:-)  This appointment includes a private fitting ( and we have a dressing room) we will properly fit you for all of our jackets, styles of pant/jodhs, and shirts.  We will also make sure you have the right undergarments if you need and then top it all off with a fitting of our GREAT Chaps and boots.   You don't NEED to buy that day -- but of course you will WANT to!  You will leave with all of your sizes in a cute little Curvy Cowgirl fitting guide and be eligible for our fantastic drawing. Wintry cold

So here I sit, in the office, looking out at the snow and wind that has become the norm here in the Midwest.  I have on my Snuggle Fleece - and am toasty.  Good news to all of our CA friends that we met at Pomona - your orders have all shipped!  - We just about ran out of stock there...and placed orders that were quickly filled and shipped - although UPS is suffering due to the snowstorm in the East late last week - orders may take a little longer to arrive
Looking forward to Springfield, MO then on to Columbus Ohio Equine Affaire.

Black Foxies

While at the Pomona show - I got to show off the Foxie Jacket - the black color is amazing and of course it flew off the rack.  A beautiful size 24 equestrienne, tried it on and said she could see herself showing again...we all smiled - she looked like a million bucks.  I got a little misty...

YES to Australia

Today we had an inquiry from Australia... I love international business. It lets me know that we are on the right trail with our Diva designs for the equestrienne.... don't you just love that word??

We are gearing up for the big show in Pomona and I hope we have enough stock that folks are looking for.

I have been wearing my Musketeer jacket all winter - I chose the Pink one and I have worn it in all conditions. I wore it the night it was -2 and our little Diamond was born. I also took it to just the quilted jacket... it is a nice beige with the pink shell - it is so pretty and the microfiber makes it so interesting looking - I wore that to look at a house where I wanted to impress the realtor-- I know how dumb -- but I wore it with my black lush pants and a black turtleneck and of course my black paddock boots.. I was stylin'... My good friend and trainer is pregnant--- and normally I would say a size 9 - over the weekend she started wearing the Green and black musketeer jacket and really looked so CUTE in it. She also had on a pair of Gray Lush pants...those really do wonders for your sillouette... she really looked awesome ...:-)

I am looking forward to the web store taking off with our new logo and the exposure we will get a Pomona at the Equine Affaire... so fun . come see me in booth 723... and Mike too - he loves Curvy girls...:-)
